The Obsidian Eye is a gripping and atmospheric read that blends mystery, mythology, and a touch of the supernatural. The story pulls you in right away with its eerie tone and vivid writing, as secrets are uncovered and tied to a strange artifact—the obsidian eye. Warshaw does a great job creating a world that feels both real and otherworldly, and the way she mixes ancient legends with a modern-day storyline keeps things fresh and unpredictable.

What really stands out is how the book balances suspense with emotion. Chloe and Lily are different but both feel real and relatable. Warshaw builds tension slowly but effectively, and the twists never feel forced. There’s a dreamlike quality to the writing at times, but it never gets too abstract or hard to follow. Overall, The Obsidian Eye is a moody, thought-provoking read that stays with you long after you finish it.

This book was intended for younger audiences but I think it can be enjoyed by adults, as well, because I enjoyed it!
